It’s lavender time in Solano County, with fields bursting with purple and violet. Join Sustainable Solano’s Local Food Program Manager Stephanie Oelsligle Jordan for a cooking class using this fragrant herb. Chef Steph will demonstrate a Roasted Beet Salad with Honey-Lavender Dressing and refreshing Lavender-Lemonade Ice Pops as well as discuss how to use it in baked goods. She will also talk about the Lavender U-Pick happening this weekend at Soul Food Farm and other lavender events at Pleasants Valley Ag Association’s Virtual Open Farm Days.
Our special guest will be Rose Loveall of Morningsun Herb Farm. Rose will talk about the U-pick event, different types of lavender, storing, drying and more.
