This “Friday Focus” class invites the general public to join Sustainable Solano’s Permaculture Design Certificate students for an online class with tickets ranging from $15 to $50 based on what you are able to pay. This is great opportunity to learn from Vital Cycles’ Anne Freiwald and Lydia Neilsen, instructors for the 2021 Permaculture Design Certificate course in Benicia. Join PDC students to get a feel for the program or gain knowledge from this one class!

Are you working with “dirt” that is challenging or even dead? Learn how to bring life into your dirt: transform it into soil by feeding the soil microbiome — underground herds of microscopic organisms which cycle nutrients and create soil structure for vibrant plants and gardens. We will dip into soil science and the history of soil management – the demise of modern day soil and the regenerative opportunities available on many scales. Learn how to assess the soil you are working with and apply the most place-appropriate, effective and easiest DIY solutions for restoring soil life, then experience the myriad of side benefits that living soil provides! Join us as we dig deeper and discover how fun and easy it is to enliven the skin of the earth in our own backyards and beyond.
