[THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE]
Sustainable Solano will be converting a 3.5-acre campus at a local Fairfield homeless shelter into a resilient, mixed canopy urban forest this winter. The project aims to serve as a living lab for Solano County residents to learn about sustainable landscaping, secondary water use and the environmental and community benefits of an urban forest. Additionally, through this Urban Forest Project, we will plant fruit trees in order to increase accessibility to healthy produce for Shelter Residents.
Volunteers are needed to help move mulch which will help create healthy nutritious soil and reduce water evaporation for the 20 trees we will be planting at this site at our Urban Forest Community Planting Workshop on Saturday, December 8th.
Join us in reducing greenhouse gases and increasing accessibility to healthy produce for over 150 shelter residents through this project!
