Solano County middle school and high school students and their teachers can win up to $1,500 in cash by entering the 2021 Water Awareness Video Contest, sponsored by the Solano County Water Agency.
The contest asks students to create compelling and original 60-second Public Service Announcement (PSA) videos on a select water efficiency topic. The 2021 water efficiency theme utilizes the popular #HowTo social media hashtag in challenging students to make a step-by-step tutorial that teaches viewers #HowTo Save Water.
The topic is purposely broad so as to provide students with maximum flexibility to demonstrate water-saving tips with what they have on hand given challenges posed by the coronavirus emergency. And, with national forecasts projecting warmer, drier weather conditions into the winter, the topic of water efficiency is especially timely.
The contest is open to both high school and middle school students in Solano County. The deadline to enter is Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 5 p.m. Winning students and their sponsoring teacher will receive cash prizes. The contest also offers Solano County teachers Amazon gift cards as a special incentive for sponsoring multiple students.
