Jessica Bates of Food Forest Farm West will teach on the current condition of the world’s soil, the beauty and benefits of working with clay soil using mineral management, and the connection between overall soil health and waste management. You will learn why reduction in food waste is necessary for mitigating climate change.

Jessica will share some basics of home composting and tips on how to properly maintain a worm bin. Home composting directly relates to waste reduction, climate change and is key to building organic soil matter right where you are!

Jessica Bates is the owner of FOOD FOREST FARM WEST (FFFW) and she specializes in permaculture design and landscaping, helping people’s gardens look like an extension of managed nature. FFFW specializes in an edible perennial vegetable nursery (local sales) and permaculture or ecological/regenerative design, install, & care of gardens.
