Learn practical ways of applying permaculture principles in your garden and community. Join us every fourth Saturday of the month at Shelter Solano in Fairfield for educational and inspiring talks on various topics on sustainability including sustainable landscaping, water, soil building and more!

Leave It Better Than You Found It! That is the goal of every permaculture designer, especially when interacting with the environment. How can we begin to develop regenerative systems that will repair our damaged ecosystems? This month we’ll discuss a brief history of permaculture and natural farming. Then we’ll learn how its principles and design methods can be used to restore even the most devastated landscapes, including transforming a desert into an oasis!

Following this half-hour talk, we’ll take a guided tour of our demonstration food forest, where we are improving over 2,000 square feet with permaculture design methods! This public garden saves more than 100,000 gallons of water annually!

These talks are funded with by the generous support from Solano County Water Agency.
