Planning to plant, then planting to plan could be one of the most beneficial acts for our planet’s well-being, as well as our own. It ties us intimately and directly into the cycles of nature. Tending to plants also teaches us to have respect for, and work within, the dimension of time. In permaculture, careful consideration is given to plant selection, timing and placement to maximize beneficial relationships. Come and learn more about permaculture planting strategy, as well as some ideas for planting for a school year harvest. Then take a guided tour of our demonstration food forest, where we are growing over 20 edible plants!

Following this half-hour talk, we’ll take a guided tour of our demonstration food forest, where we are improving over 2,000 square feet with permaculture design methods! This public garden saves more than 100,000 gallons of water annually!

These talks are funded with by the generous support from Solano County Water Agency.
