“Walk the Talk Tours”

Learn practical ways of applying permaculture principles in your garden and community. Join us every 4th Saturday of the month from 2:00pm-3:00pm  at Mission Solano in Fairfield for educational and inspiring talks on various topics on sustainability including sustainable landscaping, water, soil building and more!

This month we’re talking waste and worms! Waste is a human invention. In nature, “waste” is actually a food source for a whole host of creatures that ultimately transform dead or decaying material into energy for life itself! By composting at home, we can easily take part in this regenerative process and even begin the restoration of our devastated soils & ecosystems!

Come and learn how to start composting at home, including vermicomposting (worm farming) and even how to brew your own worm tea! Following this one-hour talk, we’ll take a guided tour of our demonstration food forest garden, fed by secondary water (laundry-to-landscape greywater system and roofwater diversion) at Mission Solano.

We will be raffling off a geobin and other soil building items at the end of the presentation. Geobins will also be available for purchase ($20 for Fairfield residents/$30 for non-residents).

Event sponsored by Solano County Water Agency.
