This project is in partnership with Dixon Community Church and Neighborhood Christian School! \nDay 1: Saturday\, March 19-Earthworks \n\nLearn how to create swales\, which are trenches that capture rainwater in the ground\, divert roofwater to those swales\, sheet mulch to protect and build healthy soil and plant trees\nLearn small scale strategies that can help make a yard more resilient during drought and floods\nVolunteer tasks: digging a swale\, moving and spreading wood chips and planting trees.\n\nDay 2: Saturday\, March 26-Planting & Drip Irrigation \n\nLearn what plants help your garden thrive by working together as an ecosystem and how to install drip irrigation\nVolunteer tasks: planting the understory\, installing drip irrigation and moving wood chips\n\n* wear mask. closed toe shoes\, sun protection\, bring gloves and water \n* Lunch will be provided \n*Bring your own lunch if you have special dietary needs
