DESCRIPTION:There is an incredible substance beneath our feet with the power to bring health to both people and the planet – our soil! \nJoin Melissa Lareau\, Advance Programs Manager at the Soil Food Web for an engaging conversation on microbes and soil biology\, phytoremediation (plants’ ability to metabolize toxins) and how to build nutrients in your own garden. Melissa will also discuss case studies from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations\, providing a global perspective on the connections between food production\, food access/freedom\, the environment and health. This event will be moderated by Sustainable Solano staff\, Republic Services will briefly cover new food waste laws\, and a Q&A will take place at the end. \nThis event is generously funded by Republic Services.
