Dried beans are versatile, inexpensive, healthy and almost always in season.
With a little advance planning, this pantry staple can be used in soups, sides, burgers, appetizers and more. Join chef Stephanie Oelsligle Jordan, Sustainable Solano’s Local Food Program Manager in a live virtual class that covers the basics of bean cookery, from different soaking techniques to flavor combinations. Chef Steph will demonstrate Cannellini Beans with Garlic & Sage (made from scratch) and an easy make-ahead Black Bean Burger recipe (made from either canned or “from scratch” beans). Storing dried beans and health benefits will be covered, with an audience Q & A at the end.
