Join us on Oct. 28 to learn about sustainable landscape design and help install a shade-providing and air-purifying garden based on permaculture principles in Fairfield! The goal of this garden to both provide fresh produce, and to improve the walkability of the street by combatting the urban heat island effect.

This public, hands-on installation workshop series will create an environmentally resilient garden in Fairfield: providing an opportunity to learn about rainwater capture and how to plant and mulch for a water-wise, sustainable garden that builds healthy soil.

*For homeowner privacy, address will be included on ticket*

Day 2: October 28-Planting

• Learn about the plants selected and their functions in the garden.
• Volunteer tasks: planting the garden

*Wear closed-toe shoes, sun protection, bring gloves and a refillable water bottle

* Lunch will be provided

*Bring your own lunch if you have specific dietary needs
