(Online) Understanding Abandoned Wells: Science, Risks, and Community Action

December 8, 2025 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Understanding Abandoned Wells: Science, Risks, and Community Action
3:30-4:30 pm, Online

UC Berkeley’s Dr. David González will join the Rio Vista Youth Air Protectors to talk about how abandoned wells impact the environment and our health. Rio Vista sits on the largest natural gas field in California and is surrounded by hundreds of wells, both active and abandoned. This informal session was brought about by the Rio Vista Youth Air Protectors’ interest in learning more about the impacts of the oil and gas wells, but is open to the Rio Vista community. Learn more here.
