Rocky Hill Trail Community Day

SuSol invites the Vacaville community to gather at the Rocky Hill Trail to learn about the local environment and importance of the trail as a part of the community. SuSol interns will discuss the importance of native plants and the benefits of bioswales that capture rainwater and stormwater in urban green areas. Presentations will be at noon and 1:30 pm. The Rocky Hill Trail will be the site of an upcoming Youth Environmental Justice Leadership Fellowship program for high school students who will study environmental data for the local community, discuss the environmental challenges and potential solutions for their communities, and participate in four hands-on workshops to help beautiful the trail while planting native plants and capturing rainwater to mitigate some of those challenges. Attendees at the community day can learn more about the upcoming Fellowship and how to apply.
