(Vallejo) Hands-On Cooking Class: Moroccan

Savory, tangy, sometimes sweet and minty….that’s Moroccan food with its warm and inviting spices! Guest instructor Melissa Edwards joins Sustainable Solano’s local food team for a fun and engaging hands-on cooking class making a tasty Moroccan Stew with Couscous and homemade Chili Oil. We’ll discuss how this versatile and healthy recipe can be adapted to accommodate everyone from vegans to carnivores, and how to stock it with fresh, local produce. And if you love comfort food, you can order it from Melissa! She is the owner of Enchanted Cottage Kitchen, Vallejo’s first Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operation (MEHKO), which offers prepared food made in a licensed home kitchen. After cooking, participants will be invited to sit down and enjoy lunch together, while Melissa answers questions about this type of home-based culinary business.
