Buy Local Forum: Strategies to Build Interest in Local Food

The Solano Local Food System Alliance is hosting its next online educational forum on what goes into community members’ decisions around purchasing local food. This forum is a follow-up to an earlier presentation about local market research (the findings of this research will be briefly reviewed during this presentation) and will discuss strategies to reach target audiences. Alliance member SuSol has partnered with UC Davis around the development of marketing and messaging strategies that will encourage more people in Solano County to buy local food. Dr. Kristin Kiesel, an Alliance member and the UC Davis lead researcher on this project, will present and discuss the findings and marketing plan. Darren Holmes of Protective Marketing LLC will discuss a comprehensive communications strategy that builds on the research and offers approaches for specific groups, such as Gen Z or cost-conscious buyers. Learn more and register here.
