Why Eat Stone Fruit?
Stone fruit includes peaches, plums, apricots, nectarines and so many hybrids. Cherries and even almonds are also in the stone fruit family. Stone fruit season varies by the type, but most are available in July in Solano County. They are a good source of Vitamin C, Vitamin K and antioxidants.
How to Prepare Them
Eat stone fruit raw in-hand, in salsas and salads, roasted or grilled to concentrate the sweetness, blended in smoothies, baked into desserts, and a varitey of other ways.
